MEET GERALD GRIGGS

Gerald A. Griggs is an Atlanta attorney dedicated to Equal Justice for All. He is a tenacious trial attorney, a zealous advocate, and a compassionate Social Justice Activist. On April 23, 2022, Attorney was elected the 13th President of the State Conference of the Georgia NAACP by an overwhelming margin.

On August 1, 2023, Attorney Gerald Griggs became the President of the Atlanta NAACP after the resignation of President Richard Rose. He became the first person in the history of the Georgia NAACP to serve in the dual role of President of the State Conference and a branch of the Georgia NAACP.

BACKGROUND

​

Attorney Griggs is a 1996 graduate of Woodward Academy. He furthered his studies at Oxford College of Emory University and Emory University, where he received his BA in 2000. After his time at Emory, Attorney Griggs received JD in 2004 from the University of Cincinnati College Of Law. He began practicing law in the State of Georgia in the fall of 2004. Attorney Griggs was recognized as a member of Emory University’s Top 40 Under 40 Distinguished Alumni.

LEGAL SERVICE
 

Attorney Griggs has handled thousands of cases over his legal career. He is a well-respected litigator known for handling high-profile cases. Attorney Griggs participated in the litigation of the Atlanta Cheating Scandal Trial, Georgia’s Longest Trial. Further, He has handled countless high-profile cases featured on Media Outlets such as ABC, NBC, FOX, CNN, FOX NEWS, CBS, and TV-ONE. Attorney Griggs is currently representing numerous clients involved in R. Kelly Sex Trafficking Matter.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

 

Attorney Griggs is deeply committed to community service throughout Georgia. He was elected as the President of the Georgia State Conference of the NAACP, serves as the President of the Atlanta Branch of the NAACP, and previously served as the Third Vice President of the State Conference of the Georgia NAACP. Attorney Griggs was also a co-organizer of the Atlanta March of Social Justice and Women, which was Georgia's largest civil rights demonstration. Additionally, he is a co-founder of the Georgia Alliance for Social Justice, the Georgia Affiliate of the Women's March.

For his unwavering commitment to community service, Attorney Griggs has been honored by several organizations, including Congressman John Lewis during the 2016 Congressional Black Caucus Conference in Washington D.C., the Georgia NAACP, and the Atlanta NAACP. He was also recognized as a Justice For All Award recipient for 2019 by Rolling Out Magazine. Most recently, Attorney Griggs was the keynote speaker at 2023 Racial Justice Summit hosted by the National Organization for Women in Washington DC. 
 
In all his endeavors, Attorney Griggs is dedicated to providing justice to all citizens, one client at a time. His unwavering commitment to equal justice for all and his impressive track record of success make him a leading legal advocate in the Atlanta community and beyond.
