Georgia NAACP President Gerald Griggs joins the Jamarion Robinson rally for Justice at Federal Court

Atlanta, Ga - The family of Jamarion Robinson organized a rally prior to the immunity hearing of the officers involved in the tragic death of the 26-year-old during a flawed arrest raid. On the steps of the Federal Courthouse in Atlanta, Georgia NAACP President Gerald Griggs offered words of encouragement to the family and activists, urging them to persevere in their pursuit of justice.

The legal proceedings surrounding the heartbreaking incident that occurred seven years ago, when Jamarion Robinson was fatally shot 59 times during a federal task force operation in 2016, have reached a critical juncture this week. Over the course of the federal proceedings, which are set to continue until Friday, a judge is evaluating arguments pertaining to the case against two officers: U.S. Marshal Eric Heinze and Clayton County Police Department officer Kristopher Hutchens. These officers were ultimately indicted for murder by a Fulton County grand jury in connection with Robinson's untimely death. A ruling is expected soon on whether to grant immunity to the officers in the case.
