Hands Off Protest Draws 30,000 to Atlanta—Attorney Gerald Griggs Helps Lead the Charge

This past weekend, I had the honor of joining almost 30,000 people in the streets of Atlanta for the Hands Off protest —a movement rooted in resistance, resilience, and an unshakable demand for justice.

Let that number sink in: almost 30,000 voices, marching together in unity, purpose, and power. We weren’t just protesting—we were making history.

The energy on the ground was electric. From the moment I stepped into the crowd, I could feel the purpose pulsing through every chant, every sign, every step forward. The message was loud and clear: Hands off our rights. Hands off our communities. Hands off our future.

In a city like Atlanta, with its deep civil rights legacy, this protest felt like a continuation of the fight our ancestors began. I marched alongside activists, students, elders, and everyday people who showed up with fire in their hearts. We stood together against voter suppression, anti-Black policies, attacks on reproductive freedom, and the criminalization of our communities.

Being part of this moment wasn’t optional for me—it was necessary. When our people are under attack, silence is not an option. And while one protest won’t fix everything, it sends a message: we are watching, we are organizing, and we are not backing down.

Over 30,000 strong, Atlanta showed up and showed out—and I’m proud to have been a part of it.

This is just the beginning. Let’s keep pushing. Keep building. Keep fighting.

“The success of the Hands Off protest proves the power of collective action. When we stand united, we send a clear message: our rights are not up for debate. This movement was peaceful, purposeful, and impossible to ignore—and we’re just getting started.”

Hands off our people. Hands off our rights. Hands off our future.
