Speaking Truth at Rage Against the Regime: A Stand for Justice in Atlanta

On a powerful afternoon in Atlanta, I had the honor of speaking at the Rage Against the Regime protest—an urgent call for justice, accountability, and systemic change. This gathering brought together activists, organizers, and community members from across Georgia and beyond, united by a shared purpose: to confront injustice and demand a more equitable future.

The protest was more than a march—it was a movement. People of all ages stood shoulder to shoulder, calling attention to the ongoing issues of police violence, voter suppression, political corruption, and structural racism that continue to plague our communities. From powerful chants to stirring testimonies, Rage Against the Regime channeled the long-standing tradition of grassroots resistance in the Deep South.

In my remarks, I spoke not only as a civil rights attorney and president of the Georgia NAACP, but as someone deeply committed to justice for all people—regardless of race, zip code, or economic status. I reminded those in attendance that silence in the face of oppression is complicity. We must remain vigilant, courageous, and focused.

We called for accountability from those in positions of power. We challenged the status quo that protects systems over people. And we affirmed the power of collective action to disrupt, dismantle, and rebuild.
What I witnessed at Rage Against the Regime was inspiring: a multigenerational, multiracial coalition that refuses to accept the unacceptable. From community organizers to young leaders just stepping into the movement, the message was clear—we are not backing down.

As we move forward, our work continues in courtrooms, at the ballot box, and in the streets. I am proud to have stood with those who demand more, who speak truth, and who continue to fight—not for headlines, but for lasting change.
